Awrighty, then. This is not a rabbit.  Officially it is a Hare. But, except for Biologists, I wonder who really cares?  Well, I do.  I cared enough to find out the difference between a rabbit and this guy with the very long ears - a Hare.  OK...ready for this?  A bunny rabbit is born...hairless.  A Hare is born with...hair!

All over Odessa, TX....did I tell you we up and moved to Texas in March 2012?  No?  OK...next post, I will tell you all about the big move. But, right now, I am discovering the Odessa Hares.  Odessa businesses buy the statues and then commission local artists to paint them in various colors or themes.  They, true to "rabbit" life....are everywhere...in front of buildings, on corners.  I find them charming and when I see one, I always smile.  Heck, in Odessa..the middle of nowheresville....a painted bunny, oops, Hare, is a welcomed sight.  I've discovered these hopping along:

There are more....I just need to find them and have my camera/cell phone ready to snap...before, of course, they hop (sic) away.
