Sun is Shining-Let's Ride!

I met Barbara on the incredible motorcycle trip we took last year with a group of riders called, Run For The Wall. With much in common - a deep love for our country, our troops and motorcycle riding, we became friends.  Life is life and we hadn't seen each other since the ride. There have been phone calls and Emails, but we couldn't quite hook up. Well....I had the day off today, the sun is out, we waited for the frost to at least attempt to thaw, and we rode!  Heck; it is 29' and we have heated gear!

We didn't ride very far - that wasn't the purpose; just get together and renew and refresh. So, we left our warm houses, and family and on a beautiful, but very cold last day of an incredible year - we said to each other, "Girl, what are we thinking??" Soup helped warm us as we reminisced, looked at her wonderful photo and journal of the Run and talked about making the 2011 Run. It was a great day. Thanks, Barb for bundling up and making it memorable!

Here's me standing next to my Sportster without a windshield; a beautiful but cold ride!

Two girlfriends renewing friendship, talking about life and planning rides....fantastic!

Tin Man Yard Art

These guys are absolutely charming. Either one would look great in my yard.  Everytime I see something as unusal as this - I think:  welding class!

In Search of Junk

I vow in 2011 to go in search of more junk. Funky, fun, old things that have been discarded; things just waiting for me to pick up and know they can have another life with us.  Poking around in small, local shops is a passion and delight of mine.  I love standing and looking at the creations of various objects - picking them up and knowing they each have a history and that somewhere someone gave them up.

I love stars.  The rustier the better. I found this arrangement and liked it right away.
This setting reminded me of spring. We could use a little spring in the Northwest right now.

A Jumble of Stuff

Welcome to the Urban Jumble of all things this & that.  I have no outline of what this blog will look like as I post, but I know it will not be political - which pains me because I love politics.  I promise to be as politically correct as I want to be and I promise any food groups we cook up will have recipes. I further promise not to poke fun of you unless you fall down and look really silly - at which point, all promises are off and I will help you up so we can both laugh.

We, the jumbled folk who we are, aren't very interesting and we think we lead pretty boring lives. But, tucked beneath the boring exterior are really gypsey souls at heart.  My son told me the other day, after I asked him if I was "wigging out of my relality" because I was rediscovering Seattle Grunge music, that, "Yes, mom; you are "wigging out." What does that mean? And, where are those parameters of being with wig and those making you without?  What he said was simple: "Mom, when I take the time to look at something I've never seen with open eyes, or listen to something with different ears, then I get to expand my experiences and my reality or point of view - changes." How did he get so wise? Points to ponder, indeed.

OK...enough pondering. I think and I know this to be true:  if I am willing to take a step forward and stand perfectly still - clear my mind of the agenda of what I THINK I know about something - if I stand there and bare my reality to the absolute of zero - void of stereo-types, void of what others think I should think or do - then I am completely open for the possibilities of .... whatever the universe would have me learn.  If that is "wigging out" then....let me stand perfectly still, throw out my arms, take a deep breath and .... learn.

Aw heck, we are all Cylon, anyway.  #6 told me that!
